Diannes Mixed Squash

This year Dianne's garden-compost sprouted a whole bunch of squash and melons. It's hard to pull them out when they look so big and interesting, but they do take up a lot of space.
As you may be aware, squash from your compost are a bit of a gamble since you do not not if the seeds were mixed with another squash of the same family. There is a good chance they may end up being inedible if that is the case as squash often down breed (regress to less favourable qualities when cross bred)…. In this case, Dianne ended up with this strange looking fellow… mostly somewhat pumpkin like until you look at its bottom!
She also ended up with some mysterious melons, and some fabulous looking pumpkins.
